Join in this Pilates Mat Mini class! In 10 minutes we will target Waists and Arms in a big way! Calling everyone who wants a challenging multitasking workout!
Let’s gather our light free weights so that we can get a little more out of the workout, creating leverage and a bit more of a challenge for our muscles. It’s a mid-speed challenge, beginning on our backs with those shoulder blades hovering above the mat. We will squeeze our waists in the warm up, then it’s an abs and shoulder combo that will get your feeling that efficient muscle burn. We follow that with plank variations for oblique abdominals.
Step up for Side Plank Sweeps!
The next section requires us to really step up for a side plank sweeping favorite, with little pulses and porte de bras. This move will certainly get your targeting your waist. Finish with just a little more shoulder work in a seated position, and that’s that! You’ve finished a super efficient Pilates mini class that will help you take big strides toward your overall fitness.
Workout Rundown:
- We begin with engaging our waists, as we reach for each ankle, in a hovered crunch position
- Up next, we work further into our cores with “round the world” circles
- That is followed by core and shoulder work to promote upper body balance
- That’s all followed by a quick but super challenging passé plank section
- Tada! It’s triceps
- Sweeping side planks and pulses are probably the most challenging part of the workout
- We will bring it home with a bit more shoulder and lats work with our light free weights
It’s so important to target muscle muscle groups like waists and arms! When working the arms, we always make sure to craft balanced routines for you all. We don’t ever want to focus too heavily on say, just biceps or just triceps? Why you may ask? Because those muscles balance one another much like quads and hamstrings do when we’re working our legs.
